For the 28th May meeting we will be exploring the life of a 19th century Augustinian friar. This friar was a biologist, meteorologist, mathematician—and the founder of genetics. Together with Charles Darwin his work is the foundation of modern biology. We will be looking at his most surprising life and the 20th century criticism that he must have cheated his results. The double twists to that story involves intriguing historical investigations. This is a story for historians, scientists, and anyone interested in the history of science.
