Family History+ (previously just Family History)
For the first time since February 2020 the Family History group is meeting face to face. The + indicates that there will be added benefits to being part of the group. These include the development of booklets that will be particularly helpful to those new to Family History. Some will be based on a series issued for beginners in the group back in 2017, but updated and extended. As always there will be presentations and discussions of a topic related to family history and genealogy and support for individual research.
The first Family History+ meeting will be on Tuesday 9th September from 2pm at Webheath Village Hall and will include an outline of the range of serious riots and massacres of 19th century Britain that may have affected your ancestors. After break we will explore the
options of working together in support of our individual research. Each meeting will cost £2 for contribution towards rent and refreshments.
The group is designed for anyone who is actively researching their family history or is looking to see what is involved in such research. Topics discussed are guided by the needs of members of the group but are generally focussed on ancestors in England & Wales over the past two centuries. More details and a list of some of the topics for discussion over the next year are included in the Family History details flyer.
For those new to family history research we can offer guidance to get started with their family tree. Join us and become the world expert on your family!
