To all Existing and Prospective Interest Group Leaders
To support a new interest group to establish itself, the Committee is offering to underwrite the hire of the small room at The Bridge Church Community Hall on the 1st Tuesday afternoon of the month from 2pm to 4pm, for up to three months. Thereafter, it's expected that the group will seek an alternative long-term venue and be self-funding. The committee can advise on the location of alternative venues.'

Potential New Interest Group with Alcester u3a - Creative Writing Group

We have had a message from a member of Alcester u3a who wishes to start up a new interest group, and we wanted you to have the opportunity to join them if you would like to. We have a reciprocal arrangement with Alcester u3a which means you can attend ONE interest group without having to pay an additional subscription (obviously the usual entrance fee will apply depending on the venue). Please refer to the text below and reply directly to the email address or phone number if you are interested:

I am trying to form a Creative Writing Group, under the auspices of Alcester U3a. In case my name rings a bell, I did try something similar a couple of years ago, but sadly, there were insufficient responses to make the group viable. With the recent expansion of u3a numbers, I thought I might now get an improved response.

I have been involved in writing for over forty years, formerly on aviation topics, but latterly my focus has been on short, pithy articles, hopefully with a humorous bent. If you feel the urge to write, and would like to share your work with others of the same inclination, these groups can be a useful focus on one’s aspirations.

If you are interested in a monthly meeting , where you would meet people of a similar ilk, perhaps you would drop me a line with your thoughts, and areas of interest. I will then see if we can assemble a quorum of potential scribes, which we would need not only to generate diverse interests, but also to afford the rent of a meeting room.
