The Coffee and Chat group usually meet on the 4th Friday morning of the month at 10.30am in the café at Mappleborough Green Garden Centre. However, occasionally this arrangement will need to change around holiday arrangements so please check the date(s) listed below.
Please note that from November's meeting onwards, we'll be gathering on the left side of the cafe in order to avoid the Autumn chill from the doors into the plant area. Look for us on the far left hand side of the cafe as you enter.

Meeting 19th December 2025
Our December meeting was a week early to avoid Christmas. Despite last minute Christmas panic starting to set in, fourteen of us made time for ourselves to meet for further lively, upbeat chat over a coffee.

Our numbers are increasing for our upbeat monthly chat over coffee (or other favoured beverage)!
Do join us at a future occasion! Just look for the large group that’s taking over the café area!
Meeting 22nd August 2025
At our last Coffee and Chat in August, we welcomed four new members. We'll be taking over the café soon!

Meeting 23rd May 2025
The group met on 23rd May at the regular venue and, as usual, had a lively meeting over some quality coffee (or tea). The main conversation point was how best to represent our u3a in an 8ft high banner. How do you represent a range of great interest groups in one simple image? The only thing that we could agree on was how difficult an ask that is! More coffee and chat required!
Meeting 20th December 2024
We had a particularly enjoyable gathering in December, the group having doubled in size since our first meeting back in October 2024.
We are a mixture of newer and more longstanding members so there is always something to talk about.
Do come and join us! The coffee is great and the company is excellent! It would be helpful (but not essential) if you could let me know in advance that you are joining us so that I can book a table with sufficient places. Come into the café area and look for the 'Coffee and Chat' poster on the table. Drop in (and leave) at any time but bear in mind that we will have gone on our way by 12.30pm.
There is plenty of parking space at the Garden Centre and it is easily accessible for less mobile visitors.
