These sessions are an exploration of visual art forms for members who wish to broaden their knowledge and experience of this subject area. They include background study of art history and a more detailed exposition of the elements, media, methods and thought processes involved to produce finished artwork.

Each monthly session is devoted to a particular subject, artist, movement, style, technique or medium, and will include a critique of its best-known exponents.

Visits to galleries and other related venues are offered from time to time as additional enhancements. Previously, we have visited Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and the Barber Institute.

Please note starting 16th March 2026, meetings will take place in the Redditch Library, Church Green. The room is on the sixth level, accessible by lift.

There are no catering facilities, we suggest bringing flasks for hot drinks or otherwise as needed.
