Online follow-up to the afternoon's presentation on the Chatterton Massacre.

It became clear during lockdown that, whilst many didn’t like the limitations of on-line discussions, there were benefits of the medium. A major benefit was that those who struggled to hear discussions in a village hall could hear clearly at home with speakers set to their specific needs—or using EarPods or headphones. As a backup the on-line software includes an option to produce live sub-titles. Those who have been to my presentations will know of the trouble I have hearing questions from the audience and I know that many share that struggle.

There are other benefits. Many need to think about new ideas and only generate questions or quibbles after a meeting is over. A later discussion allows their valid input to be made and a proper response offered. It even allows those unable to attend the afternoon meeting to get some flavour of the topic.

The 7pm discussions will not be a repeat of the afternoon meeting. They are designed foremost to enable discussion of the subject beyond the afternoon meeting.
