This year is the 200th anniversary of the Chatterton Massacre, part of the the Weavers’ Uprising of 1826. With whole towns suffering from massive unemployment and underpayment of what were the top skilled workers, someone had to suffer.

Using the latest research into the massacre from Dr David Scott at the Open University together with his own family history research, John offers an overview of the uprising just seven years after the massacre at the peaceful gathering on St Peter’s Fields—Peterloo. The evening online discussions will include isimilar events throughout the country between 1761 and 1878.
